At the heart of Mo and Jo’s blended family is Payton, the youngest of their children, who navigates life with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). While Unomojo champions various important causes, it holds a special place for initiatives dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and adults with ASD.
One in five children is diagnosed with ASD, a number that Unomojo intends to improve all while providing better resources and opportunities for the demographic.
Unomojo advocates for critical areas including ASD health, housing, safety, family support, knowledge and skill development, education, vocational opportunities, and social integration. Unomojo’s commitment delves into understanding and prevention, and empowering families with new knowledge and resources. The dream is for individuals, like Payton, to find their place in a world that embraces them wholly and allows them to thrive.
“I see the looks in parents’ eyes, and I’ve been there,” said Jo, who is intimately acquainted with the challenges and triumphs that families effected by ASD experience. “Having a child with Autism made me realize just how much the world needs to be a little bit softer, a little bit more understanding, and a little bit more accepting.”
Martiñ “Mo” and Jolynn “Jo” Rojas are the compassionate visionaries behind Unomojo, an enterprise of sustainable, charitable ventures dedicated to empowering a World of Good.
Fueled by a profound love for each other, the husband and wife are on a relentless pursuit to make a meaningful difference. They share their hearts far and wide with communities through Humble Birdie Charities.
Without being a positive force for good, it’s impossible to expect it. You get from the universe what you put into it. You have to be part of the change or it won’t happen.
Rooted in humility and driven by a deep sense of gratitude, Mo & Jo’s journeys from modest beginnings to successful entrepreneurs have always been defined by an unwavering commitment to give back.
Unomojo leverages technology, humanity, and philanthropy to support the quest to do A World of Good, one act of kindness at a time. Mo & Jo harness the power of technology to connect people and solve problems. By modeling exemplary deeds and dedication to philanthropy, they inspire others to act with humanity.
Random kindness received during dire moments in Mo and Jo’s lives’ fuel their empathy and their belief that small acts of generosity have transformative power. Unomojo is dedicated to leaving a legacy that fosters a more compassionate world for future generations, understanding that gestures of all sizes can make a significant difference in someone’s life. The couple is grounded by the mantra ‘Be humble. Be kind.’
My mother would take the $10 she had and we’d go buy vanilla ice cream and root beer at the dollar store and serve it to veterans. I knew that was all the money we had and thought she was crazy, but what we got in return was something we couldn’t put a dollar on.
Unomojo shows up for organizations that have identified a problem, are passionate about changing the world, and are actively contributing to making the solution happen.
Mo & Jo are humbled with the amazing ability to contribute, giving a voice to a variety of causes in need. Unomojo remains open to addressing diverse giving initiatives and pressing needs within communities.
When Mo & Jo travel, each itinerary mindfully includes a deliberate act of kindness. Whether it’s feeding the homeless, shopping for domestic violence victims or the elderly, taking a sheltered dog on a field trip, or helping a student with tuition fees, Mo and Jo identify needs and lend a hand whenever possible.
At home, paying it forward is a cornerstone of Mo & Jo’s daily routine, as evidenced through simple acts like leaving a generous tip for a waitress, covering someone’s gas expenses, buying coffee for the next patron, or assisting a family in need.
What gestures can YOU make today that will improve someone’s day?
Thank you for joining Unomojo in doing A World of Good. Together, we’ll create a ripple effect of kindness and positive change.
Leading with kindness is really hard to mess up – being kind is good and free of charge.
